What actually changes
XLSX and ODS are not the same picture in two wrappers.
The OOXML workbook is written as OpenDocument spreadsheet XML. Values, formulas and most formatting carry across.
Worth knowing first
Excel-specific features have no OpenDocument equivalent. Power Query connections, slicers, and newer dynamic array functions either vanish or convert to static values, which is silent and only shows up when the data no longer refreshes.
